Some of the most important cognitive functions of the human brain are undoubtedly memory and concentration. Our Memory allows us to store information from the outside and recall/use it later on when it is required. The level of our concentration determines the quality of the information we take in.
In other words, good concentration is like watching a video in 1080p, and bad concentration is like watching a video in 240p. Bad resolution can lead to blurry images and that consequently to wrongly distorted facts.
Luckily, there are numerous ways to improve you memory and concentration. In this short post I would like to list 3 of them:
1) Drink a glass of water
Studies show that when you feel mental fatigue, drinking a glass of water will instantly refresh your mind, improve your memory and concentration.
2) A good night sleep
You can’t underestimate the power of a good night sleep. Whenever you feel tired and sleepy, your memory and concentration will suffer and will be unable to work properly. Try to sleep at least 7-8 hours, and make sure that your bed room is fully dark. Light shining through your curtains or through some other parts of the room will worsen your sleep and must, therefore, be fixed at all costs.
Your Brain is inside your head, and your head attached to your body. So if your body isn’t in good shape your brain will follow. Exercising regularly is really important, and by regularly I mean somewhere between 4 to 5 times per week for around 1 hour. It doesn’t matter what kind of exercise or sport you do, as long as you are moving around and your heart is beating faster, it’s all good.
By applying the 3 ways to improve your memory and concentration above you should see some good results pretty fast. Remember that you only have one brain, if you mess it up – game over. Let me know if you have any other ideas on how to improve memory and concentration.
